YumPu-LaKang - the first palace in Tibet, said to be 2000 years of history, located in ShanNan of southern Tibet. "Yumbu" means female deer, describing the resemblance of the mountain shape around, and "LaKang" means holy palace. The story is told that when the first Gambo came down from the sky, he was seen by 12 believers, they made him king and built Yumbu-Lakang. Though is not a big palace, it stands on the peak of the mountain in a very strategic position.
